What You Wished You Knew in Medical College

What you wished you knew when you were in Calcutta Medical College ?That’s a question we asked our batchmates and some of them answered in their usual cryptic style. Here’s wisdom from the batch of 2000 a.k.a cmcmillennialbatch.

That life throws curveballs now and then and studying medicine is not at all a rosy career as portrayed.

Dr.Soumya Ghosh:I wished to come back again to Medical College as a PGT or as a doctor.

Dr.Nivedita Das:Friendships are priceless, no matter what, friends remain same. Political angles are absolutely nothing to do with the relationships between friends. 

Dr.Indranil Mallick:As I look back on our time in medical college, I can’t help but reflect on the dreams and aspirations we all had as aspiring doctors. I remember wishing to truly make a difference in patients’ lives, gain knowledge and skills to excel in our fields, and build lasting bonds with each of you—my incredible batchmates.
As I reminisce about our undergraduate days, I can’t help but think about my dream of becoming a gynaecologist. Back then, I was inspired by the opportunity to support women’s health, bring new life into the world, and empower women through their reproductive health journeys.
I hoped we would support each other through the challenges of medical education and emerge as compassionate professionals dedicated to improving healthcare. I envisioned us working together to create positive change in our communities.

Dr.Rubik Roy:There is a  great world beyond the patients , drugs , bones and mcqs. I feel that as young ones in their formative years, our development could have been more multidimensional that what it turned out to be. Ofcourse there are people who faired quite better.
